How do I cancel a confirmed shift? Are there any penalties?

Note: A previous iteration of our cancellation policy included penalties for cancellations that occur 3-7 days in advance of a booked shift. We’ve since modified our policy (thanks to user feedback!) to be more flexible to our dental practices’ needs. Now, penalties will only apply if a booked shift is canceled with 3 days’ notice or less.

Life has an interesting way of derailing our carefully laid plans—so we’ll always do our best to be flexible and understanding when you need to cancel a confirmed shift. If a shift isn’t canceled within a certain time frame, we do have a policy of charging practices for at least a portion of the dental professional’s pay. Here’s what you need to know.
  • Canceling More than 3 Days (72 hours) in Advance
You won’t incur any charges or penalties for canceling more than 3 days (72 hours) before a confirmed shift. Thanks for letting us know in a timely fashion!
  • Canceling Between 1-3 Days (More than 24 Hours, Less than 72) in Advance
You’ll be charged 25% of the pay the professional would have received for working the full shift, plus the onDiem service charge.
  • Canceling 1 Day (24 Hours) or Less in Advance
You’ll be charged the onDiem service charge, plus 100% of the pay the professional would have received for working the full shift.

Regardless of time frame, if you need to cancel for the reason below, we’ll waive any associated penalties.

  • Catastrophic Events or Force of Nature
Certain life and world events are simply out of our immediate control—and we don’t think anyone should be penalized for that. Send us proof if you need to cancel a confirmed shift for this reason, and we’ll waive any penalties.
