How to Create and Fill a Temp Job Post on onDiem

onDiem offers three fulfillment options to help practices fill temp shifts based on their volume of shifts and desired level of control.

  • Auto-Fill – Best for practices posting many shifts that want onDiem to handle fulfillment

  • Offer & Approve – Best for practices posting multiple shifts that want to offer shifts to specific professionals while still receiving requests

  • Offer Only – Best for practices that want only specific professionals to receive offers

Step 1: Create a Temp Job Post

  1. Log in to your onDiem account.

  2. Once logged in, you will see the Calendar view.

  3. Click “Create a job post” on the date you need coverage.

  4. The Temp Job Post template will appear.

Step 2: Complete the Job Post Details

Fill out the form with the following information:

  1. Date(s) you want coverage
    1. Select multiple dates only if all shift details are the same (position, rate, start and end time, and job description).
  2. Start time / End time
  3. Unpaid lunch break, if applicable
  4. Position you are looking for
  5. Reason you need coverage
  6. Job Title
  7. Job Description and Requirements

After completing the shift details, you will see the Fulfillment Type options at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Choose a Fulfillment Type

Auto-Fill

Best for practices posting many shifts

Auto-Fill allows practices to rely on onDiem to quickly staff shifts with vetted professionals.

  • The practice posts the shift, and onDiem fills it with a qualified, vetted candidate.

  • You receive confirmation once the shift is filled.

  • If the match is not the right fit, you can remove the professional and onDiem will work to find another.

  • Blocked professionals will not be able to view or request these shifts.

  • Newly available professionals are automatically considered, regardless of when the shift was created.

Note: Auto-Fill is not available for Dental Assistant (DA) shifts.

Offer & Approve

Best for practices posting multiple shifts that want more control

Offer & Approve provides a balance of control and visibility.

  • You manually offer shifts to specific professionals of your choosing.

  • Your shift is also visible to other available professionals in the area.

  • Professionals who find the shift can request to work it.

  • You decide whether to approve or decline incoming requests.

Offer Only

Best for practices that want maximum control

Offer Only is designed for practices that want to work exclusively with specific professionals.

  • You manually offer the shift to selected professionals.

  • Only professionals you offer the shift to can view it.

  • The shift is not posted to the marketplace.

  • You will not receive requests from other available professionals.

Exception:
A practice manager can copy and share the shift URL. If a professional who was not explicitly offered the shift accesses the link, they may request the shift, and the practice manager must approve it.

Additional Notes

  • All three fulfillment methods allow practice managers to send offers directly to professionals.

  • Practices always retain control and can remove a professional by re-listing the shift.

  • Professionals that a practice has blocked cannot work the shift, regardless of fulfillment method.

  • Practices can edit a shift and change the fulfillment method at any time.

    • Existing offers remain in place after a change.

    • After updating, the shift will follow the rules of the newly selected fulfillment method.

  • When the Dental Assistant (DA) position is selected, Auto-Fill will be disabled.
